Trevalyon Garden Services

Garden planning, care and maintenance for Bude and surrounding villages

Biography of a Gardener.

Neill has 30+ years gardening experience tending his own gardens and started with a small flower bed at age 7. During this time, he has created and tended several of his own gardens in the UK and US varying from small new spaces requiring full design and planting to the restoration and maintenance of mature grounds of up to 2 acres.

He is a lapsed artist, unconventionally qualified for horticulture. He has a degree in Fine Art and worked for a few years as an artist in Edinburgh before falling into an IT career after solving the unsolvable financial reports for his employer by visualising the coding required. A 20+ year career in IT followed. Neill also has a postgraduate degree in Archaeology and Heritage Management, majoring on the study of built remains which enhanced the IT career with its handling of big data and complex relationships. Archaeology and art combined with IT skills were used to create detailed standing building plans and drawings. He then made a left field jump out of the employed corporate world into owning and running a cycle hire business in a small Cornish coastal town. A lifestyle reset. Now those elements of art, history, business and technology are brought together with his passion for gardening, and a garden design business is growing.

Currently studying with the Horticultural Correspondence College (Holsworthy) to formalise his experience, deepen knowledge and work towards the RHS Level 2 horticultural qualification.

He started Trevalyon Garden Services in 2017 offering maintenance services to gardeners in Bude and developed a regular client list covering North Cornwall and North West Devon. Client gardens have varied from small village gardens and holiday properties to manors and even a vineyard.
